Development Log #1






Hello! Welcome to Illustris! We are a group of Students from Kent State University, creating a game for our Senior Capstone project.
Our main character is a small lantern spirit, named Wisp. Here's some early concept art Madeline made for Wisp.

Our two coders, Dwayne and Sam, have been working on creating the ability system for our game. The goal is to have the lights orbit the player with the player having the ability to select and deploy the lights to interact with objects in the level.
So far, they've implemented light orbs that orbit the player. These orbs can be selected and moved/deployed by the player. Here are a couple in-game screenshots of the current setup.



Emily has created a few story ideas for the plot and lore of the game, I'll include a sample of that below

Lily and Cole are currently working on creating level sketches to prepare for blockouts and Kolt is modeling our main character in Blender. Madeline is fine tuning our character's concept art and creating a turntable.
