Development Log #6
Another update, our group lead, Emily, has withdrawn from the semester due to events in her personal life and will no longer be working on the project. Lily will be taking the helm as the new group lead.
We've been focusing on transitioning over to the new Unreal project. Lily has been creating the movement and camera systems and the project now has a working sidescroller camera and fixed camera. Emily was working on re-rigging the model, as the previous rig was having issues with animations. Madeline has been gathering and moving over our assets. Cole made some adjustments to the blockout of what was level 3, and is now level 2 as the original level 2 was cut for scope. He's also ensuring the levels are imported over to the new project properly.
Going into the next week, our goal is to have a playable version. At least where the player can walk through the levels. To accomplish this Lily is creating growable bridges and ladders using state machines. Cole is going to re-do the blockout of level 1 to match the style of the other level's blockout. Once blockouts are done and Madeline has the assets selected and imported we can begin swapping blockouts for proper textured models. We'll have to re-rig the character as well and begin creating animations.
Below are videos of the sidescrolling and fixed cam in action
